KICK ASS cert 15
Rating 5 out of 5.

The latest film by Brit director Matthew Vaughan is very difficult to categorise. A superhero origin movie
but with a large slice of black humour and the best action seen for many a year. The influence of long time
collaborator Guy Ritchie is there for all to see. In fact if you enjoy the kinetic humour of
'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' and 'Snatch' you will love this film.
Using talented Brit actors (Mark Strong we salute you) with American actors joining in the fun with glee (welcome
back Mr Nic Cage) the story just rolls along at such a pace the extended running time simply
doesnt feel enough and you long for more once you leave the cinema.
All the attention has been on 'Hit Girl' - An 11 year old superhero with outrageous moves and
a filthy mouth to boot - this is unfair as though she is very good the other characters in this
film are just as watchable - from the weak and scrawny Kick Ass himself - whose super-power is being able
to get the crap kicked out of him and survive - to the array of hench men working for Mark Strong (wonderful american
accent Mark) who each get their moment to shine... (Ill never look at a bazooka in the same way again).
This film has slipped under the radar a little (clashing with the Titans - pun intended) and is now going up against
Iron Man 2 - All I can suggest is that if you get chance to see this film in the cinema please do - I had to see this
film twice and I have not done that in a very long while.
